If you’ve been following my posts here or on my blog you’ve been seeing the name Jamie Hunsdale a lot. He’s an amazing Foley artist and he and I have joined forces recently and launched the company Impossible Acoustic. Jamie has really turned me on to the potential of performing sound design live with props rather than relying entirely on pre-recorded sounds. This project epitomizes the power of that philosophy. Another company originally did all the sound work for this project, and did a decent job too, but it wasn’t as nuanced and vibrant as it could have been so we were brought on to start afresh. We made multiple trips to the hardware store and experimented with a lot of different techniques and then spent a lot of time mixing and sweetening with library sounds. We’re really proud of the results. Click on the picture to watch one of the six videos but be sure to check out this link to watch all the videos as they were intended to be seen.
